Obua blames URA’s Uganda Cup loss to KCCA on a “lapse of concentration.”

The Round of 16 encounter between URA FC and KCCA FC in the Stanbic Uganda Cup was a game filled with excitement, drama, and ultimately heartbreak for the home team.

Played at the Mehta Stadium in Lugazi, URA FC enjoyed the lion’s share of possession and created multiple chances throughout the game.

However, despite their dominance, they were unable to convert their chances into goals, and it proved to be their undoing.

In the 85th minute, with the scores level at 0-0, KCCA FC won a free-kick, which was taken by substitute Mustafa Kizza.

URA’s goalkeeper James Alitho, who had been impressive throughout the game, fumbled the ball, and Kizza pounced to score the only goal of the game.

It was a cruel blow for URA, who had worked hard and played well, but ultimately, a momentary lapse of concentration cost them the game.

In his post-match briefing, Tactician David Obua expressed his disappointment at the lack of focus from his team.

He emphasized the importance of maintaining maximum focus at all times, both in training and during the game.

He also acknowledged that URA had played well, dominated the game and created chances, but they failed to convert them into goals, which ultimately proved costly.

Despite the loss, Obua was pleased with the overall performance of his team and vowed to return stronger.

He praised his players for their hard work and determination and urged them to learn from their mistakes and move on.

URA’s exit from the Stanbic Uganda Cup was a bitter pill to swallow, but Obua remained optimistic that his team would bounce back and come back stronger next season.

In conclusion, the URA FC Vs KCCA FC match was a thrilling encounter that showcased the best of Ugandan football.

Despite the disappointment of the loss, URA FC can hold their heads high, knowing that they played well and dominated the game, and with a little more focus and concentration, they could have easily won the match. KCCA FC, on the other hand, will be delighted with the win and will look to build on it as they progress to the quarterfinals.
