UPL in Chaos: Eight Clubs Fail to Meet FUFA Licensing Standards

The Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) has released a comprehensive assessment of Uganda Premier League clubs in relation to the mandatory club licensing requirements for the 2024/25 season.

Following the initial deadline of July 31st, only KCCA FC and Kitara FC have fully complied with the stipulated criteria, earning them Category One status.

A group of clubs, including SC Villa, BUL FC, NEC FC, Mbarara City, and Soltilo Bright Stars, have met the mandatory requirements but require further adjustments to align with best practice standards.

Consequently, they have been granted conditional licenses, pending fulfillment of the outstanding criteria before the second round of the season.

A more significant challenge lies with Vipers SC, Wakiso Giants, Mbale Heroes, Police FC, URA FC, Maroons FC, and Express, who have yet to meet the minimum player registration requirement.

These clubs have been given until August 15th to rectify the situation and complete the licensing process.
