Vipers striker Abubakar Lawal ruled out through injury

Six time Uganda Premier league champions Vipers SC have confirmed that their Nigerian striker Abubakar Lawal will be out for weeks.

According to the club website, Lawal sustained a fracture to his right hand finger during their Uganda Cup round of 32 tie with Rugarama FC.

Lawal will miss Vipers forthcoming fixtures against Wakiso Giants (Sunday, 10 March) and KCCA FC (15th, March).

Ghanain Fumador Awisome and Mauritanian Mohamed Ekbad Salem are expected to fill his void.

Meanwhile, defender Livingstone Mulondo returned to the club’s training as he continues with his rehabilitation from a hip problem.

Vipers SC prevailed to the Quarterfinals of the Uganda Cup after their comfortable 3-0 victory over Iganga Young FC on Wednesday. They next face Wakiso Giants in a league contest at Kitende.
