Opolot Joins Mbale Heroes

Newly promoted Uganda Premier League side Mbale Heroes have strengthened their defensive line with the acquisition of Solomon Opolot.

The experienced defender joins the club on a one-year contract after captaining Kyetume FC in the FUFA Big League for the past two seasons.

Opolot replaces Geoffrey Lubangakene, who recently departed for SC Villa. The versatile defender brings a wealth of experience, having previously represented Blacks Power and Teso Province in the FUFA Drum tournament.

Mbale Heroes are undergoing a squad overhaul ahead of their debut season in the top flight. The club has already secured the services of former Vipers forward Umar Kyebatala, among other signings, including Sula Mpanga, Sulaiman Ssesaazi, and striker David Tonny Kiberu.

The signings highlight Mbale Heroes’ ambition to compete at the highest level of Ugandan football.
