Official Communication: CAF Interclub & Licensing System

Deliberations were held by the eminent CAF Interclub Competitions and Management of the Club Licensing System Committee to address the incident that took place during the second leg semi-final encounter between RS Berkane and USM Alger in the highly anticipated TotalEnergies CAF Confederation Cup 2023/24 on 28th April 2024.

After extensive discussions, the CAF Interclub Competitions Committee, collaborating with the Management of the Club Licensing System, arrived at the following resolutions:

1. USM Alger will face a forfeit of 0-3 as a penalty for their involvement in the incident. This decision has been made in accordance with the gravity of the situation and the violation of established protocols.

2. The case will be referred to the Disciplinary Board for further investigation. The Disciplinary Board will conduct a thorough examination of the incident and may impose additional sanctions based on their findings.

3. As a result of USM Alger’s forfeiture, RS Berkane will proudly progress to the Final of the TotalEnergies CAF Confederation Cup 2023/24. Their exceptional performance and adherence to the tournament’s regulations have duly earned them a place in the ultimate stage of the competition.

The CAF Interclub Competitions Committee, in collaboration with the Management of the Club Licensing System, remains steadfast in their commitment to upholding the core principles of integrity and fairness in all CAF competitions.

Swift and decisive actions are taken to address any infringements and ensure the continued prestige and honor of these distinguished competitions.
