Rogers Mato joins FC Brera Strumica in Mercedonia

Former KCCA FC striker Rogers Kasim Mato has completed his move to North Macedonia’s Brera Strumica four days after leaving leaving Turkish second tier club Sanlıurfaspor.

Mato’s spell at Sanlıurfaspor has short-lived for only six months having joined the club from KCCA FC on a four year contract in August last year.

He went on to feature for Sanlıurfaspor on five occasions in the Turkish second division league.

Mato becomes the third Ugandan player in the North Macedonia topflight league after Halid Lwaliwa and Shafiq Kuchi Kagimu.

Kagimu plays for FK Rabotnichki while Lwaliwa captains FK Bregalnica Stip.

Mato will put on shirt number 25. His new club was formed in 2010.

Last season, Brera Strumica took part in the UEFA Conference League but suffered an early exit courtesy of Poland’s Lechia Gdansk.

Former Inter Milan forward and UEFA Champions League winner Goran Pandev is the club’s president and co-owner.
