Sadiq Sempigi resigns from Bulemezi coaching role

Sadiq Sempigi has resigned from his role as Bulemeezi Ssaza team head coach.

Sempigi left the role after Bulemeezi’s 1-1 stalemate with Butambala in their opening Bulange Group contest on Sunday at Kasana Luweero.

Swift Sports Uganda understands that Sempigi decided to resign inorder to concentrate on his new job at Big League side Jinja North.

Sources also reveal that the financial struggles at Bulemeezi also forced him to make an early decision.

He replaced Edward Ssali who was at the helms last season as Bulemeezi lost to Buddu on away goals rule in the Semifinal.

Sempigi has previously coached at Buganda Region League side Kampala University FC from where he joined Onduparaka.

He has also coached at Kooki Ssaza football team as well as Buganda Province in the FUFA Drum tournament.

Meddie Nyanzi who has been working as his assistant is expected to take over helms at the two time Masaza Cup champions.

Bulemeezi are in Bulange Group alongside Ssingo, Butambala, Buvuma, Bugerere and Busujju.

The 2012 and 2019 Masaza Cup winners will next travel to Bugerere over the weekend.
