After a difficult opening to the 2024/25 season, Kitara FC has decided to mutually part ways with head coach Brian Ssenyondo and his entire coaching staff.
The decision follows a series of disappointing performances that have left the team with just four points from six league games and positioned in the relegation zone.
A club statement read, “Kitara FC would like to confirm the mutual departure of head coach Brian Ssenyondo and his entire technical staff.” The statement continued, noting that this choice was made with the long-term goals of Kitara and its dedicated fan base in mind.
Ssenyondo was highly regarded after guiding Kitara to the Stanbic Uganda Cup last season and finishing in fourth place in the Premier League standings. To build on that success, the club signed several key players over the summer, such as Patrick Kaddu, Umar Lutalo, Moses Sseruyidde, Titus Ssematimba, and Ronald Otti, with hopes of challenging for the title.
Unfortunately, the squad has so far struggled to meet those expectations, currently trailing the top spot by 11 points. In parting ways with Ssenyondo, Kitara joins other clubs this season that have decided to make managerial changes, including Mbale Heroes FC, Express FC, Lugazi FC, and Vipers SC, all of whom recently dismissed their head coaches.
