Cranes Target Double Whammy Against South Sudan in AFCON Qualifiers

Uganda Cranes are poised to maintain their leadership in Group K of the 2025 AFCON qualifiers as they host their neighbors South Sudan at the Mandela National Stadium.

Uganda currently heads the group with four points from two matches, having drawn against South Africa and defeated Congo Brazzaville.

Coach Paul Put’s men are seeking to extend their winning streak following their 2-0 victory over Congo Brazzaville.

South Sudan, on the other hand, are aiming for their first points of the campaign after suffering defeats to Congo and South Africa.

Uganda will be without striker Muhammad Shaban due to injury, but KCCA FC striker Derrick Nsibambi is set to make his return to the national team.

South Sudan will be missing NEC FC right back Joseph Dhata, but SC Villa striker Francis Onekalit is expected to make his debut.

The two nations have a historical rivalry, with Uganda dominating the head-to-head record. South Sudan, however, will be determined to upset the odds and secure their first points against Uganda.
