The highly anticipated 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier between Nigeria’s Super Eagles and Libya’s Mediterranean Knights is set to take place this Friday at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo.
This Group D clash promises to be a crucial encounter as Nigeria aims to extend its lead, having already secured four points after two matches.
The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has appointed Malawian referee Godfrey Philip Nkhakananga to officiate the match.
Assisting him will be his fellow countrymen Clemence Kanduku and Joseph Nyauti as assistant referees. The fourth official for the match, scheduled to kick off at 5 p.m., will be Botswana’s Keabetswe Dintwa.
CAF has also assigned Issaka Boubacar from Niger as the referee assessor, while the broadcast venue manager role will be handled by Mayowa Akingbemisilu.
Ghana’s Munkaila Nassam Adam will serve as the match commissioner.
After two rounds, the Super Eagles are sitting comfortably at the top of Group D with four points. Meanwhile, Libya, having managed just one point, find themselves at the bottom of the table.
Both teams will be looking to strengthen their positions as they fight for qualification.
