Andrew Kawooya Moves from Express FC to New League Entrants

Kawooya has officially joined the ranks of Mbale Heroes, signing a one-year contract with the club based in Mbale.

After spending just a single season with Express FC, the talented midfielder has decided to move on.

During his stint with Express, Kawooya made 11 appearances and found the back of the net once, contributing to a 3-0 victory over Gaddafi FC at Wankulukuku.

Kawooya’s career trajectory has seen him play for various clubs, including KCCA FC, UPDF FC, and MYDA FC. His football journey began to gain attention during his time with the Vipers Junior Team and at St. Mary’s Kitende, where his skills were first noticed. He has also represented Uganda on the international stage, being part of the Cubs squad that competed in the U17 AFCON in 2018 and the Hippos team that played in the U20 AFCON in 2021.

In the current transfer window, Kawooya is just one of many new faces at Mbale Heroes. He joins a growing list of players like Umar Kyebatala, Sula Mpanga, Sulaiman Ssesaazi, David Tonny Kiberu, Davis Ssekajja, and Solomon Opolot, who have all been brought in to strengthen the squad.

The club is clearly making significant moves to prepare for the upcoming season, including bolstering their technical team with the addition of former Cranes defender Richard Malinga.
