Uganda’s pioneering rower Grace Kathleen Noble has confirmed her retirement from high-level competition following the conclusion of the Paris 2024 Olympics.
The two-time Olympian, who made history as the first Ugandan to compete in the sport at the Olympics, will hang up her oars after the E Final on Friday.
Noble, who secured her place in the E Final with a second-place finish in the semifinals, expressed her desire to focus on family and career after her Olympic journey.
She emphasized the importance of developing a strong domestic rowing scene in Uganda, advocating for the creation of national and regional championships.
