Gazelles & Silverbacks Roar into FIBA U18 Finals

Tanzania it was a basketball game, not target practice! Uganda’s U18 teams, the Junior Gazelles and Junior Silverbacks, absolutely dominated the FIBA Africa Zone V U18 Qualifiers finals.

The Junior Gazelles were unstoppable, with every player getting a piece of the pie in their 100-56 win over Tanzania.

Resty Nanangwe was a scoring machine, dropping a game-high 20 points and grabbing 13 rebounds.

Don’t forget about Modesta Anyango, Shiphrah Kiranda, Christine Namyalo, and Abigail Mpoza – they all chipped in double-digit points, proving this team is a bucket machine!

Tanzania tried their best, but Elizabeth Laizer and Namsifu Kimera couldn’t keep up with Uganda’s scoring frenzy.

The Junior Silverbacks continued the party with a 104-41 victory over Tanzania.

It was a total team effort, with everyone contributing points. Brighton Galiwanga led the way with 16 points, but Mukisa Nkugwa, Peter Sserunjogi, Aron Makmot, and Tejan Rugette all played their part.

Speaking of Rugette, not only did he score, but he also racked up a crazy 13 assists!

These impressive wins mean Uganda’s U18 teams are one step closer to ballin’ it out at the FIBA U18 African Championships.

Get ready, Rwanda, these Ugandan teams are on fire!
