Jeremiah Armstead’s Triumph over Adversity: A Story of Hope, Resilience, and Basketball

In the face of seemingly insurmountable challenges, Jeremiah Armstead emerged as a shining example of resilience, determination, and unwavering perseverance.

Born into a life marked by constant instability and hardship, Armstead’s journey to success was anything but easy.

From a young age, he and his family faced homelessness, forced to spend nights sleeping in their car when they couldn’t find a place to stay.

Despite the adversity he faced, Armstead remained undeterred in his pursuit of his dreams.

Basketball became his refuge, a sanctuary where he could escape the harsh realities of his life and channel his energy into something positive.

His senior year of high school finally brought a sense of stability, allowing him to fully devote himself to the sport he loved.

Armstead’s historic recognition as the first recipient of the Perry Wallace Most Courageous Award from a historically Black college or university or NAIA school serves as a testament to his extraordinary resilience, unwavering determination, and remarkable ability to overcome adversity.
