Ochaya stars for Arab contractors despite defeat

Uganda Cranes left back Joseph Ochaya was on the score sheet for the third time this season as his side Arab Contractors lost 2-1 to Al Ahly in the Egyptian Premier League in Cairo.

Ochaya scored from the penalty mark in the 87th minute following Aliou Dieng’s handball in the forbidden area.

Al Ahly were playing their first game since the club’s disappointing elimination from the Africa Football League courtesy of Mamelodi Sundowns.

The African record holders scored through Taher Mohamed and Mohamed Hany in the first and second half respectively.

It should be noted that Ochaya scored seven goals and made three assists in 31 appearances in his debut season with Arab Contractors last season.

However despite his scoring form, Arab Contractors find themselves on the wrong end of the table following a string of unconvincing results.

They currently sit second from the bottom with only two points from the six games played so far this term.

Ochaya is not part of the Uganda Cranes squad that will face Guinea and Somalia in the upcoming FIFA World Cup Qualifiers next week.
