Kiyinda Boys beat Masanafu to seal big league place

 

Charles Batiibwe Okello scored twice as Buganda Regional League champions Kiyinda Boys defeated Kampala Regional League champions Black Star Masanafu 2-1 to be promoted to the FUFA Big League at Ssaza grounds in Mityana.

Batiibwe who is also the captain Kibuli SS scored both goals in the second half in 54 and 78th minutes to give Kiyinda Boys a deserving 2-1 victory.

Black Star Masanafu had scored first in the 36th minute from the spot through Solomon Wafula.

Both sides had played to a two all draw in the first leg at Wankulukuku on Sunday.

Victory sees Kiyinda Boys FC promoted to the FUFA Big League on aggregate 4-3.

Kiyinda Boys are under the stewardship of Simon Dungu alias Dunga.

Dungu’s charges also won the Buganda Regional league title and were eliminated by Bright Stars at the Stanbic Uganda Cup round of 16 stage of

For starters, Kiyinda Boys was founded by the Kiyinda Mityana Roman Catholic Church five years ago with the aim of nurturing and helping talented youths in Mityana.

Being a Catholic church founded team, Rev.Fr Simon Peter Kyambadde is the club President and his leadership is based on vision and transparency has been key to the team’s success.

They have lived the talk of their motto which states, One Team, One Ambition”.
