Luwero United hold Kitara but they stay top of the big league

FUFA Big League relegation strugglers Luweero United have held leaders Kitara FC to a 1-1 draw at the Kasana grounds in Luweero.

Musa Mugerwa gave Luweero an early lead in the third minute with a wonderful low draw before Paul Mucureezi five minutes later.

The Sam Simbwa coached side pushed for a would be winning goal which never came.

Despite draw, Kitara remained top of the table on 52 points, one more than the second and third placed Mbarara City and NEC FC.

Luweero did not improve their position on the table either as they remained 13th but on 29 points from 27 games played.

Kitara will hope to bounce back when they host another relegation fighting side Soroti City in their next game next Thursday.

Luweero will continue to bid for safety as they make a trip to Nakisunga to take on Kyetume on the same day.
