FUFA Big League side Police FC came from a goal down to eliminate Uganda Cup holders BUL FC 2-1 in the first quarter final played at Kavumba Recreation grounds.
The Cops staged a come back through an own goal by Pascal Ngobi and striker Ronald Sempala who scored the eventual winning goal.
BUL FC scored first in the second minute of the game through their offensive midfielder Anthony Mayanja.
Ngobi was unfortunate to level masters in the 59th of the game when the ball came off his leg following a header from Jackson Ssemugabi.
Ssempala sealed the come back as he put Police in the lead five minutes later with a thumping header from a Denis Kalanzi well weighed cross in the 64th minute.
Kalanzi was a second half substitute who replaced Ahmed Danjuma after being stretched off due to an injury.
Defeat means Simeon Masaba’s charges have now gone five games minus registering victory.
Police FC’s next game will be away against Soroti City in the FUFA Big League on Sunday at Soroti Stadium.
BUL FC will shift the focus to the Uganda Premier League where they play Busoga United in the Jinja derby on Friday 21st.
The quarter finals of the Uganda Cup will resume on Friday as Vipers SC will be hosting Big League side Calvary FC at St Mary’s Stadium in Kitende.
